A German social media influencer has drawn criticism after posting videos of himself playing loud music through a large speaker and dancing on subway trains in Seoul.

Known on TikTok as "Streichbruder," the influencer, who has some 3.3 million followers, uploaded seven videos of himself DJing aboard Seoul subway trains, including those running on Line No. 6 through Samgakji, Noksapyeong and Hyochang Park stations and on Line No. 2 through Sinchon Station.

The videos also show him getting off the train with his speaker at several stations, where he dances and performs backflips on the platform.

His subway performances have gone viral, garnering a combined 2.8 million views, but not everyone was amused.

Some commuters criticized his performances as a public nuisance.

"It's already hard enough to find a seat, and he was making all that noise in the middle of the train. I don't understand why subway staff didn't stop him," one user wrote on Threads.

Others defended the influencer, saying his performances brought a little excitement to otherwise quiet subway rides.

"Everyone is looking at their phones and it's usually so quiet on the subway in Korea. Some Koreans in the video are even smiling and giving him high-fives. What's wrong with having a little fun?"

Seoul is not the first city where the TikToker has staged such performances.

Recently, he filmed a similar video at Park Guell, a popular tourist attraction in Barcelona, Spain designed by architect Antoni Gaudi. Two security guards tried to stop him from recording, but he continued filming and later posted the video on TikTok.
